Shipyard Plantation Golf Club - Reviews

The home of the Hilton Head Seniors International from 1982 to 1984, Shipyard Golf Club was rated as one of the finest layouts on the PGA SENIOR TOUR. This 27-hole layout wanders through tall pines, magnolias and moss-draped oaks. Adding to the beauty and character of the course are many lagoons and ponds.

Recommended This was our first round of the year. Course was in ok condition. It had rained quite a bit the previous couple weeks, so the greens were somewhat washed out. Not bad on a whole. I wished we could have played it a little later in the season.

Accurate tee shots and well-measured approaches are must on this championship layout. The greens are very large and well bunkered, and their tiered, undulating surfaces demand a delicate touch.
