"A great course, this is one of the top in the area. Great for a single as there is a lot of play so easy to get matched up with others" " My favorite on the Island. Staff is very friendly and accomodating. Course is always in good condition. Challenging but fair." "After 12 years of visting Hilton Head Island, the Hilton Head National course stands out as the most enjoyable layout. Always in superb condition, the three 9-hole tracks provide a challenge to golfers at every experience level."
"Minimal hazards in the line of play; slightly undulating rather than difficult greens; multiple tees for variety; bunkering that allows both professionals and amateurs equal opportunities."
Challenging, yet very playable, Hilton Head National takes its place near the top of the great golf courses of Hilton Head. The course sums up Gary Player's design philosophy: "minimal hazards in the line of play; slightly undulating rather than difficult greens; multiple tees for variety; with bunkers that allow both professionals and amateurs equal opportunities".This course is a great bet for any golfer visiting the Hilton Head Island area.
This course is always in great conditon. Two of the nine holes were designed by Gary Player. I have never played a golf course in better condition.
This is one of the more player-friendly courses in the area, with big greens only mildly undulating. Watch for the huge, shared green on Nos. 9 and 18. As a bonus, there are no homes or condos along the course, a rarity in the area. The course routinely gets kudos from area golfers for its consistently good conditioning and is a favorite with the ladies. Its forward tees take away many of the forced carries .
